Breaking it into steps.

Sometimes it feels like nothing will ever change. The same reaction, the same loop, the same overwhelm. Automatic. Unstoppable.

And then it happens: one conscious breath.
So small, it almost feels silly. And yet it’s everything.

That single breath is proof. Proof that the cycle can be interrupted. Proof that even in the middle of chaos, there is a choice.

Once it happens, you can’t go back. Because if it was possible once, it can be possible again. And that means the old pattern has already cracked.

It’s like a spark – fragile, but real. Or like a muscle that begins to grow the moment you use it. Each time, a little stronger. Each time, a little easier.

Sometimes it’s a breath. Other times it’s a micro-embodiment in the middle of crisis — a simple reminder to the body: I’m here, I’m safe now. It could be touching something with a strange texture, feeling your feet on the ground, waking up your senses just enough to bring you back into the present.

Breathing and sensing – are powerful tools. I’ll share more soon in a post dedicated to everything I’ve learned about them.
